The Sagrex History |
Sagrex started out as a local trader of copra coffee beans and sugar. The company next ventured into the consolidation of volumes of castor seeds, cotton seeds and pineapple and banana degum fiber for exportation to Japan and Germany. After Eight (8) years, the company decided to venture into importation and distribution of NPK Soluble foliar fertilizers when it was awarded the Philippines exclusive distributor of GrowMore, Inc; a California based manufacturer of micronutrients. |

Furthermore, Sagrex was awarded the exclusive distributorship of Doufos Guano, a 100% natural phosphate fertilizer and soil conditioner produced in Indonesia. With its thriving performance and its healthy relationships with the key players in the local market, Sagrex has merited market leadership as a provider of Nitrogen-Phosphorus- Potassium (NPK) soluble fertilizers for foliar application. It is now considered a leader in supplying micronutrient fertilizers for the Three (3) biggest agriculture export of the Philippines, pineapple, sugar and Cavendish banana. |

Betafoam Corporation As a well-managed company, Sagrex has firmly established its place in the agri-business industry of the Philippines. In its bid to continually grow, the company went on to establish in 1994 the first Polyethylene (PE) Foam manufacturing plant in Davao City. Sagrex introduced to the banana exporters of the Davao Region the use of PE Foam as cushioning material for packing Cavendish bananas. The dynamic growth of the banana industry ushered in opportunities for Sagrex to similarly expand its PE Foam operations. The company as well widely marketed PE Foam for its capacity for sound absorption and heat insulation. The demand for Sagrex-manufactured PE Foam soon grew well beyond the borders of the Davao Region. The company’s factory in Cavite was, thus, established to service the Metro Manila and Southern Luzon market. In 2003, Betafoam Corporation was formed to independently run Sagrex’s PE Foam manufacturing operations.
